LatinoBuilt’s energy efficiency efforts were highlighted at the National Home Performance Conference and Trade Show (NHPC’23) held April 17-20, 2023 in Seattle. 

Two featured speakers from LatinoBuilt included Berenice Lopez-Dorsey and Adrian Arenas, who shared their knowledge in residential energy efficiency with thousands of conference participants at the 37th NHPC’23 annual event.

LatinoBuilt co-founder Berenice Lopez-Dorsey presented as part of a panel on “Building Bridges and Opening Doors: Creating and Promoting a Diverse Workforce in Energy Efficiency.” She shared insights on how and why to make DEI central to any home performance business. Ms. Lopez-Dorsey is also owner and president of Home Energy Life Performance (H.E.L.P.) Group Inc. and co-founder of the Home Performance Contractors Guild of Oregon

LatinoBuilt green program manager Adrian Arenas presented as part of a panel on operating & delivering weatherization programs. The panel shared results of a pilot program to expand technical proficiency badges. The pilot program’s goal is to grow a skilled home energy retrofit installer workforce and create a clear pathway into the residential energy efficiency industry among minorities and women. Mr. Arenas shared how contractors are benefiting from this Portland Clean Energy Fund collaboration between LatinoBuilt, Earth Advantage, EnerCity Collaborative and NREL under the umbrella of the Portland Clean Energy Fund.
