LatinoBuilt is seeking a talented and entrepreneurial individual to join in our success. The Business Development & Technical Assistance Coordinator (BD/TA Coordinator) will apply business consulting skills to help our Latino contractor members tackle simple to complex business tasks to help secure contracts in the construction industry.

This position will provide holistic business support to small and medium-sized firms with the primary goal of generating growth and stability. The BD/TA Coordinator will also work towards achieving set goals by improving management and capital efficiency, identifying new opportunities, and increasing profits. As well as seek opportunities to optimize resources and build a network of trainers and consultants to support the membership’s educational needs.

The BD/TA Coordinator may also conduct key business analysis activities, including requirements definition and business process design. We are looking for someone with “out of the box” analytical skills and personable characteristics that leads to members’ success in acquiring projects with thoughtful foresight

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree – Preferably in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Architecture, Engineering or General Construction.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local grant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in grant management software and financial management systems; advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel along with CRM software programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including experience in writing and editing reports.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail ensuring accuracy and completeness of all grant-related documentation.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, coordinating with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grant compliance and audit requirements, ensuring adherence to all relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to build and maintain relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders.
  • 3+ years of relevant business systems analysis or business consulting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Project Management methodologies/design.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English with strong written and verbal communication skills targeted to different audiences -Members, Stakeholders, Sponsors, Etc.
  • Strong business acumen – Ability to understand Construction related business fundamentals and implications of change.
  • High Proficiency with CRM software programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as web based apps (i.e. HubSpot, Google Docs, Excel, Etc.)
  • Business Analysis experience – including processes, estimating & contracts execution.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity of new members business problems and rapidly develop a plan and path forward with very little direction or oversight.
  • Manage small or medium projects or tracks of work within large projects.
  • Build project approach, detailed plans, resource plans and project structure.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to proactively drive other resources toward completion of deliverables.
  • Identify and distribute bidding opportunities to members and provide bidding assistance as requested.
  • Facilitate business process design as well as organizational role and responsibility definition.
  • Experienced in creating cash flow projections.
  • Financial literacy – budgeting, record keeping and basic construction accounting concepts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • QuickBooks knowledge.
  • Real world construction knowledge along with knowledge of CCB requirements.
  • Able to navigate bid packets and procurement offices processes.
  • Subcontractors and payment application processes.
  • Teach classes for basic accounting, Excel as well as estimating & bidding.
  • Dealing with homeowners’ contracts as well commercial pay difference.
  • Experience with manufactures and distributors for material.
  • Reading, understanding and navigating of floor plans.
  • Experience dealing with grant contract managers and effectivity reporting and staying in touch with them.
  • Attending community events & networking.
  • Act as a mediator between large General Contractors (GCs) and subcontractors, fostering effective communication channels and conflict resolution mechanisms to ensure smooth collaboration throughout project lifecycles.
  • Facilitate negotiations and agreements between procurement offices and contractors, ensuring alignment with project objectives and contractual requirements.
  • Serve as a neutral party in resolving disputes or discrepancies between GCs and subcontractors, employing diplomacy and negotiation skills to reach mutually beneficial resolutions.
  • Maintain open lines of communication between all parties involved, including GCs, subcontractors, procurement offices, and contractors, to address issues promptly and prevent potential disruptions to project timelines.
  • Coordinate with procurement offices to streamline procurement processes and optimize vendor relationships, fostering transparency and efficiency in project execution.
  • Provide guidance and support to subcontractors in navigating procurement requirements and fulfilling contractual obligations, promoting a collaborative and cooperative working environment.
  • Act as a liaison between procurement offices and contractors to ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures, facilitating compliance and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Proactively identify potential conflicts or challenges in procurement activities and propose proactive solutions to mitigate risks and minimize impact on project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for enhancing communication and collaboration between GCs, subcontractors, procurement offices, and contractors, fostering a culture of partnership and teamwork.

Schedule: Mon. – Fri. 8:00AM – 5:00PM, with some evening and weekend commitments.

Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 DOE
